Fasting

I recently learned that when fasting from food, your mind thinks clearer. This intrigued me.
Your body is full of so many toxins from sugar and bad food and when you fast from those things and only fill yourself with delicious juices, the toxins are washed out.
I thought deeper into the idea. What about trash t.v.? What about consumerism?
And so, I am fasting. For forever.
I'm not buying clothes for at least one year. I've always said that I want to make my own clothing so why don't I? I'm going through my closet and if there is something there that I don't really need, I'm done with it.
I would much rather buy experiences like concerts that a garment that doesn't actually give me anything other than comfort.
This is not to say that I won't receive gifts of clothing or shop at thrift stores. I don't like the idea of feeding the consumerism monster, and thrift stores such as Goodwill and Salvation Army give to a cause.
I'm doing all this because I want to live an uncluttered life style. I will think more clearly without everything else weighing me down.
Ok bye,

Musical Ties and Wii Fit

I just helped host a Ugly Christmas Sweater party last night and decided to go the "Office Party" route instead. I got the Abecrombie muscle fit shirt at Goodwill for $3 and the suspenders there as well.
I got the glasses at Avalon Exchange in Pittsburgh by trading in some old duds.
Also, my family got a Wii Fit just recently, and all that I can really say is that it's cute and addictive.

Expired Film

Not only did I recently trade out some clothes for geek glasses at Avalon Exchange, but I found a new Polaroid camera at Salvation Army.
It came with a ridiculous instructional booklet.

It also came with film in it...

very expired film.

Happy Christmas,

Thermochromatic Joy

Today I wore my American Apparel Thermochromatic tee. I am still amazed by it and love seeing people's first reaction when they realize how sweet this shirt is.
I wore this yesterday. Once again the shirt//tie//cardigan combo does not fail me.

Bow Tie

This is probably my favorite outfit I wore this week. I like to call it "old man chic"
My woven shirt, Salvation Army cardigan and bow tie, and my moose pin that was a thrift store find as well made me feel very happy.

Scarves & Anathallo

I have an absolute obsession with my granny-shades. It doesn't help when I add in the plain v neck and the scarf around my noggin.
I could wear this every day.
I could also listen to Anathallo every day. I recently saw them at Musica in Akron, OH, and I think the best word to describe my experience would be "insightful." I stood in awe during the whole concert just at how joyous music can be.

Megaphones and Halloween

I love Halloween! Anytime I go shopping and find something outrageous, I always buy it in case it would work for a cute costume. Naturally, I had more than one costume idea, but I stuck with Speed Racer. I kind of went against his color scheme but it worked as an updated version, and the helmet was fantastic.
For Halloween I went to a pub and had a good time with friends and ate frog legs and homemade cream soda, that's a common food-drink combo, lolz.

Tonight I went to Pittsburgh's Waterfront in Homestead and saw Eagle Eye and had some good eats with friends. Earlier in the evening I had watched Be Kind Rewind.

Michel Gondry is one of my favorite directors and I must say, he managed to make yet another endearing film that made me very excited for his newest project, Master of Space and Time.

Love always,

Pen Pals for Life

I have a pen pal at school and we have officialy kicked off our year of pen-paling-around. This is the first one I have sent. It's always a collage and it's always the best part of our day when we get them in campus mail.
Remember Pogs? I hope you do because if you don't you had a deprived childhood. I can remember going into this shady backroom of a Bilo when I was a kid buying Pogs every Sunday after church. I always had the perfect slammer too.

I bought this novelty tee at Salvation Army recently. I guess it wasn't a novelty tee before, someone actually belonged to Troop 3, but now it is.
I actually only spent $1o on this recent spree, be proud.
I bought mostly just basics because I've found that my closet is full of graphic tees and bizarre clothing that I probably won't wear in 5 years, I'm being practical now.
It's wierd.
